Action Day 3 at Jubilee Wood

Entrance to Jubilee Wood

Today in the sunshine and hot weather, we made some fantastic progress at Keresley Jubilee Wood.

Activities today included grass cutting along the footpath and orchard area, litter picking, installing new ‘No Litter No Fouling’ signage and making new benches.

We made and installed one new bench near the entrance. This will be a great bird watching spot and also for people who are unable to walk the whole perimeter, but would still like to visit the wood. We also installed a new bench on the south side of the paddock. This will be a great spot to watch the sunset. This brings the total number of benches in the wood to three.

Thank you to our local volunteers, Bablake & Holbrook Ward Councillors, and representatives from Change Grow Live – Coventry. We are very grateful for Coventry Park Rangers’ support, providing tools, guidance and PPE. 12 of us in total took part across the day.

Please do visit and enjoy the wood, check out the progress and let us know what you think. You may recall we set out a vision in January this year to rejuvenate Keresley Jubilee Wood in time for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. With the hard work of local volunteers, local charities, local politicians, President Kennedy School, 13th Coventry Scout Group and Coventry Park Rangers, this vision has been realised over the last five months. However, there is always more to do, so we can’t stop there. If you would like to get involved with Keresley Jubilee Wood, please do get in touch!
